Plastic Balloons To Solar?

Yes. That seems to be one of the biggest piece of news that I have heard in a while. And it seems like this kind of project is currently being worked on right now.
What has happened is that a company based in California has been working with plastic balloons to convert the sun’s rays into usable energy. This company is Cool Earth Solar. They have been using the plastic used in Mylar balloons as well as in the wraps of Pop Tarts.
Of course, they have not been blowing up the balloons to for solar power. They stitched all …read more

The Sun And The Shade

In San Diego, you will find a structure that is all about the sun and the shade. I know it sounds quite contrasting but hear this out.
Have you heard of the Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve? Well, this park has recreational vehicles there. And where there is shade right on top where these RVs are stored. That is the shade part. The sun part comes next. See, right on top of that shade, the officials of the park had decided to go solar and so they mounted a solar power system. That happened last year.
And so now, the officials are quite …read more

The airport officials of Los Angeles had purchased some 17,750 acres of land. This piece of lot is located in Palmdale and they were thinking that they could use such for an airport. However, up until now, the airport has still yet to be constructed. And so as they say, idle land is useless land.

Do The Number 2 In A Solar Loo

In the United Kingdom, there are areas where there are public toilets. Of course, that is going to help a lot when you feel like taking a pee or a poop and you are out running errands.
Now interestingly, these public toilets are actually powered by the sun. Yes. On top of the whole block of toilets, you will find solar panels and that is what gives the toilets the power. However, the power is not used at all times and that is why there is even extra energy. Now the extra power is sent back to the grid and they …read more

Heard About Solar Shingles?

We all sure have heard about shingles. But these are made of wood or brick. But never solar cells. But there are now such things known as solar shingles and they will not only be part of the decorative aspect of your roof – they will also be playing a part in helping you save money by lessening your energy bills.
Vaguhn Prost works for Missouri Solar Applications. On solar panels and solar shingles, he says, “If you had one of these arrays on your home, it would produce about half of your electricity that you’d need for your average home.” …read more
