World’s Strictest Parents, Inc. and the producers of SUPERNANNY are now searching for rebellious teenagers for a brand new series.

Teens are you rebellious? Are you tired of your parents’ rules and restrictions? Ever thought about what it would be like living with really strict parents? If you would like a short vacation from your parents and are up for the challenge, the casting team wants to hear from you! This is an opportunity for teens to go live with another family and trade in their parents for a new set for almost an entire week. Call 888-41-TEENS (1-888-418-3367) for more information.

"This is a really exciting show and a chance for rebellious teenagers who want to change their ways to learn about how other families bring up their teenage kids," said executive producer Nick Emmerson about the show which is set to start filming in 2009.

The casting team is looking for teenagers (with parental approval) from every type of background who are ready to participate in a social experiment exploring the world of the 21st century teenager matched against contemporary parenting styles. The producers are seeking teens with unique interests; technically savvy teens; hippies; urbanites; slobs; surfers; affluent teens; liberals; defiant teens; and teens who have ordinary or extraordinary circumstances.

Interested teens may apply from anywhere via http://www.theworldsstrictestparents.com. They can also call 888-41-TEENS (1- 888-418-3367) or email teens@ricochettelevision.com for more information.

The producers of this show are based in Los Angeles and also have offices in London and Brighton. The production company is one of the leading independent production companies of high quality un-scripted television programming in the United States and abroad. The international phenomenon, SUPERNANNY, launched the company in the United States where they are building an innovative reputation for creating transformational, critically acclaimed reality based documentary style television.

When my boys were toddlers and going through their biting spell, I did use hot sauce to break them from biting, but to break them from the pacifier? That’s a little harsh. Even for Britney Spears. Apparently she’s using this method to break Sean Preston of his habit.
My boys didn’t have an attachment to a pacifier, for some reason neither one ever wanted or needed them – but when I thought it was time for breaking the bottle, one quick trip to a farm where a mother animal had babies was all the inspiration my kids needed to toss [...]
Post from: Blisstree

When my boys were toddlers and going through their biting spell, I did use hot sauce to break them from biting, but to break them from the pacifier? That’s a little harsh. Even for Britney Spears. Apparently she’s using this method to break Sean Preston of his habit.

My boys didn’t have an attachment to a pacifier, for some reason neither one ever wanted or needed them – but when I thought it was time for breaking the bottle, one quick trip to a farm where a mother animal had babies was all the inspiration my kids needed to toss the bottle and never look back.

The boys loved the idea of giving baby animals their bottles – they felt they were doing something really nice to help out.

If you can time the visit just right, at a time when the animals are being weaned from their mother’s – the coaxing the kid into breaking the habit for the greater good.

Britney, dear, drop the hot sauce – it’s not a good idea and on a paci is just a wee bit cruel, even for my taste.

Anyone else have ideas they’d like to share with Britney Spears or mother’s like Brit who are trying to break the paci habit?

I swear my kids don’t believe me. They believe I’m full of hot air. I do think my own two boys are fearful enough of my “going apeshit on their ass without warning” episodes that they would avoid such actions at all cost.

Since we had our discussion over the stupid girl in Ohio that sent the video of herself that’s being called “child porn” – there’s been the revelation that cell phone porn is growing in the Michiana region. This is awfully close to home folks! I’m in that “iana” part of that equation.

It has been suggested that the reason my kids may not be struggling with ‘normal teen behavior’ is because they have been taking Zoloft for a few years. They believe the chemical impact being provided by Zoloft is providing just enough “sexual side affect” that the boys aren’t suffering the full affect of hormonal changes most teens do.

Now I’m wondering if I’m doing my kids an injustice because we’re not dealing with “natural” issues – however, in speaking with my kids, I asked them what they thought about the obvious confusion, anxiety and blatant stupidity of their friends. They both agreed they would rather have the chemical assistance to make wiser decisions than to have to go through some of the stuff their friends are.

We have become privy to information that someone we know that is also 14-years-old may have transmitted an x-rated photo of themselves to someone at school. The mother part of me wants to step in and report the stupid act while another part of me wants to curl up in a shell and hide from the horrible world this is becoming.

When I asked my kids if they’d ever received any such images, they informed me they had been asked if they wanted to see a pic a couple of times of different people – but they declined the opportunity and told the kids how stupid what they were offering was.

I don’t want to just settle with an explanation that “boys will be boys” and they’re going to look at porn in any way shape or form. I want to lock them up, shelter them from this horrible world and have them see what the consequences could be for getting involved with stupid teens making stupid decisions.

Now my questions for you is:

1. If you heard a friend of your kids had taken a photo of themselves and sent it over their phone, what would you do?

2. Would you be concerned about the possibility that the medication your kids are on may be causing them to have an “unnatural” approach to the world and the issues they encounter?

It’s no big secret that I wasn’t much of a saint growing up. And while I like to joke at times, saying I was so close it scared me, I know I was a typical kid who drove my parents up the wall.

My parents remember several times of having to punish me and actually feel a little guilty for it. I, on the other hand, remember a couple of times and ironically, they don’t match what my parents remember.

I thought it would be interesting, entertaining and hopefully, insightful to see how others stack up in their childhood memories and what punishments stuck with them, even into adulthood.

I’m looking for that one (or two) punishments that worked. What was it that you did and what was your parents response that made you never want to do that particular deed again?

Those who participate in this exchange will be entered into a drawing for a $25 Amazon Gift Certificate. I will be using all entries to compile an article on unforgettable punishments at a later time. If you would like to have a link to your blog included in this article, please write the comment from the NAME you want used and include the LINK you want included.

Note: I’m not looking for tales of horror or punishments that hinged on abuse – I’m talking about effective parenting, creative punishments and lasting impressions. The horror stories are for a different topic altogether.

I am stepmother to a 15 year old male who happens to be a lazy slob. I’ve been married to his father for almost 5 years and for the most part we have a healthy relationship until I open my mouth about his kid.

The kid shows no respect for me whatsoever when I ask him to do something. I wait for the task to be completed. When he wants something he whines to his father or grandparents and usually gets whatever it is he asks for. In my opinion, he is a spoiled brat who even boasts about how his dad and grandparents think he’s so perfect.

When I take away privileges my husband gives them back. Then says, “you need to control your anger”. The kid lies and manipulates his father on a daily basis, and his father always believes him and takes his side even when I give him concrete evidence of the offense.

I am so angry right now that I’m ready to divorce my husband. It has been almost five years of varying degrees of similar activities and it just seems to be growing more out of control and more disturbing to me.

What will happen is readers, who don’t want to or can’t blog about their own family issues, can have an outlet to post, discuss and seek advice and support.
Sound fun? Entertaining? Reassuring? Enlightening? It should. Especially after you read the very first, inspirational story I’m about to share.

Sound fun? Entertaining? Reassuring? Enlightening? It should. Especially after you read the very first, inspirational story I’m about to share.

Feel free to chime in – this parent wants some help in coming up with an effective punishment.

I’ve recently discovered my teenage son (14) has been looking at porn on the internet. I found a file he tried to delete, but didn’t do a very good job of it. The file contained porn pictures and porn videos.

Aside from taking the computer away and not letting him have access to one at all, I’m not sure what else to do. I’m speechless, baffled and down right disgusted.

Now that I’m back from the mechanic – I’ve got a few minutes to share the attack strategy I cooked up for the selfish little buggers who reside in my house.

I sent them all a text message and told them their presence was required at a family meeting to be conducted in the family room immediately.

Each walked in as if they knew the hammer was coming down. I love how my kids know me so well!

Since D insisted that his rule of not sharing his music be respected, I thought we’d let him run with that rule for one week. The kicker is everyone else gets to enforce that same rule for the same amount of time.

Conversation following the finely laid out plan as follows:

D: That’s fine, I don’t care.

Me: You’re sure? You don’t want to hold your opinion until I lay out all the details?

D: No I’m fine

Me: Ok well here’s how this will work – for one week, no one is to tough anything that is not theirs. That means this remote control right here is mine – it goes to my television that’s connected to the satellite that I pay for – so don’t touch. The TV will remain on my preferred channels for the entire week.

Now, that phone over there, that’s mine too. Don’t touch.

D: What about our cell phones?

Me: The cells are yours – those were a gift – however, the service is mine since I do pay for it so I’ll have that intercepted for the one week.

D: Oh

Me: Now, when it comes to common areas like the bathroom and kitchen, those rooms are omitted from this experiment. So, is everyone game? Once we start this, there is no turning back for one full week! Any changes or suggestions need to be made now.

It was at this point that the term “mine” tucked tail and ran out the door and in it’s wake were three young men capable of working out a compromise and who had just had one hefty lesson in conflict resolution.

And here I was looking so forward to not answering the phone with some young girl calling asking for one of the boys – and to actually get to watch a few of my favorite programs.

Oh well, such is life in a household with three boys.

I sure hope I’ve not scared Char at Parenting Teens and Tweens so much that she locks her son up until he’s 25, but hey, that’s not a bad idea considering all the stupid stuff teens are involved in today.

Last week was a very busy week for this poor mom! School woes and kids style issues. It was almost more than a mom could take.
Well, I finally chipped and nagged away at him enough that we were able to load up and go on a little shopping/social experiment excursion.
What I did was take him to the redneck farm store and then to the mall. In the mall was visited Aeropostale and American Eagle Outfitters. Before entering the stores, I asked him to look around each store and find the girls he considered HOT.

You can almost see where I’m going with this, can’t you?

In the farm store, he didn’t see any girls – only farmers and laborers with similar style to that he’d been insisting on.

Next the mall – before entering each of Aeropostale and American Eagle Outfitters, his eyes lit up. Inside both stores were beautiful girls. In fact, one store we were able to do very little shopping in because his eyes were glued to one particular girl that caught his eye.

When we finished shopping and got in the car, I paused and asked him to think about something.

“If a girl that hot is shopping in American Eagle Outfitters, what kind of style do you think she would like her man to be?”

The light went on and the style was changed.

Now if all parenting issues were this easy to resolve.
