Gym Rant: If You’re Going To Run Barefoot…Actually, Please Just Don’t Run Barefoot

Gym Rant: If You're Going To Run Barefoot...Actually, Please Just Don't Run Barefoot

It’s no secret that barefoot running is having a serious moment right now. Those Vibram five-toed boots have become nearly as ubiquitous as yoga pants, and every major shoe manufacturer has rolled out some barefoot (or at least minimalist) shoe. A lot of people also run fully barefooted–including one guy at my gym the other day. Which is where I draw the line. More »

Security Cameras Used To Catch Locker Room Thief–Is This Something You’re OK With?

Security Cameras Used To Catch Locker Room Thief--Is This Something You're OK With?

When a D.C.-area gym found itself plagued by a locker room thief, the manager decided to do something about it. According to NBC, Chris Kopp decided to fill one of the lockers with flour and put a flimsy lock on it–and sure enough, the thief got a face full of white powder. Regular exercise can improve your skin, your heart, your mood, and even your career. More »

Wasting Money By Not Going To The Gym: There's An App For That

There’s been a lot of buzz this year about Gym-Pact, the app that charges you money when you skip out on the gym, and gives you money when you do go. Isn’t that why you pay for a gym membership, anyway? More »
