Instead of giving out candy this Halloween, why not explore alternatives? It’s not what tradition calls for, but it could be a healthier option for your kids. Give their sweet tooth a rest, but still maintain the fun quotient with these candy alternatives.

Temporary Tattoos
Small novelty toys (ex. rubber spiders, bouncing balls, etc.)
Stickers
Halloween-inspired toys (ex. plastic vampire teeth, slime, etc.)
Crayons and small coloring books
Glow sticks
Bubbles
Masks
Pretzels
Sugar-free Candy
Popcorn Balls
Kiddie Toothbrush and Toothpaste — for them to use after eating the candy they get from other homes!

No candy?! No succulently sweet, glue-my-teeth-together candy? It may not make you the most popular home on the block, but perhaps parents will be thanking you once their kids don’t wake up the next morning with a toothache. And even if they do, at least you know it’s not because of what you gave them for Halloween. Trick or treat!

K & Company has released a ton of new products for the upcoming holidays. I hardly bought anything when I went to Joann Fabric today. Honest. Well, just a few things. Alright, alright. I bought two bags worth. Happy? But there was a really good sale and I just love the cute stuff this scrapping/stamping company comes up with. Anyway, after I came home, I couldn’t remember exactly why I had to have a few things, so I hopped online to see if there were any project ideas.

It turns out that something I didn’t buy supplies for really caught my eye – a little Halloween tag that has the sweetest little owl image. (I kind of have a thing for owls, but don’t tell anyone. I already have an enormous frog collection from saying I liked frogs within hearing distance of someone who was trying to figure out a gift idea and…well, that person shared the info with someone who told someone else, who told someone else…)
