Eating Fabulous Blog Refers to Cocoa for Dementia Help & Brain Health

Ruth Schaffer, over at b5media’s Eating Fabulous, refers to flavanol-rich cocoa as a food that could be for the heart and brain.  Researchers have concluded it could lead to brain health and thus possibly slowing down dementia or Alzheimer’s.
                                       According to Ruth, “It’s too early to tell, but could chocolate be the new prophylactic for preventing cognitive decline and dementia?”

b5media has set up, “Heart Matters,” charity donation drive with the American Heart & Stroke Association during the month of February, American Heart Health month. 
                                       Why should Alzheimer’s Notes be concerned about heart health?  Many Alzheimer’s victims do have some form of heart condition.  Often their deteriorating memory can be a combination of stroke, TIAs (transient ischemic attach) and Alzheimer’s.

Healthy Diets for Alzheimer’s Patients

When Alzheimer’s patients can’t prepare their own food and often don’t know any longer what’s best for them, family members and nursing home staff have these decisions to make.  Since many afflicted with Alzheimer’s also suffer from high blood pressure or have had strokes, salt intake often must be monitored.
