All three blogs have been retired by b5media in their redesign and new direction. Instead, they now have portals and the Blisstree.com portal is for life and health issues.

If you’ve been regular readers of either of my three blogs, Help My Hurt, Womb Within, and Cancer Commentary, you may be wondering where you they are and where you ended up if you clicked on the URLs for those sites.

All three blogs have been retired by b5media in their redesign and new direction. Instead, they now have portals and the Blisstree.com portal is for life and health issues. Although I don’t write those three blogs any more, I was asked if I’d stay and write in their general health section. I agreed because although I enjoyed writing those blogs, I was limited to issues regarding pain, pregnancy, and cancer. This gives me an opportunity to write about other interesting health issues too.

What I will miss is the regulars who read my blogs and I hope that they’ll follow me here. My blogs weren’t the only ones retired and some remained, so this new format really gives you the chance to see what else is available to you. I have a confession to make. I rarely looked around the other channels because they were a matter of “out of sight, out of mind.” But since Blisstree launched, I’ve been clicking on other blogs and thinking, “hey, this is really interesting.” So, maybe you will now too.

In the meantime, don’t forget that I have my Montreal on the Cheap blog (a part of the new Cities on the Cheap network). I also own and write Seniors Support and my own site, Marijke: Nurse Turned Writer. You’re all more than welcome to come over and have a visit.

If you haven’t noticed, we are Science and Health channel no more. This fabulous channel is now called the Health and Wellness Channel. More fitting, eh?
Anyways…since the month of April is Cancer Control month, we saw it fitting the this month’s channel theme day should be all about cancer.
And it’s all about cancer today indeed, as Marijke of Help My Hurt hosts.
Though everyone came up with their best entries, my personal pick is of Pink Ribbon Review’s Karen Lynch.
In a post entitled There Are Survivors Among Us, Karen wrote:

That photograph? That’s me, not even one year after my initial treatment ended. That’s me, with a pink ribbon on my sleeve. That’s where I wear my heart, always have, always will. That’s me.

That day? I was with my husband and my children enjoying a perfect afternoon. We were at a picnic and my children were deeply involved in a craft project. My husband was snapping photos. I was enjoying my kids and my husband and thinking about how lucky I was to be spending the day with them all. How blessed I was to be able to see their busy bodies and smiling faces. I was thinking about how happy I was to be alive.

Thank you very much Karen for sharing your story to us. I am pretty sure that many readers out there will be inspired by you.
