He is currently back with his ex, who is the mother of his youngest child. They were split for a long time, most of two years, unless of course, they were not and he just said that they were. I would not have known the difference – we live in different states and he was the one who traveled to visit me.

He has her listed as “complicated” on Facebook. Not “in a relationship with.” Just “complicated.”  I think that sucks. Either do it or don’t. Doesn’t she deserve that?

I spent almost a year of our relationship waiting on him. He’d disappear every once in awhile, then come back and be fine. It was confusing and depressing and I think I drove everyone who loves me crazy by putting up with him.

I recently read the book, He’s Just Not That Into You, by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo. I read it at a point when I had not heard from him for a few months. I wanted to let go, but for some weird reason, I could not. The book opened my eyes.

It’s very simple really. If he does not call you, he’s not into you. If he does not pursue you, he’s not into you. If you have to make excuses for him, he’s not into you. If you have to put any sort of extra effort in and he does not immediately fall all over you, then he is not into you. If he says, “it’s complicated,” then he’s not into you.

I wish that the book was required ready for all women, everywhere. I found it that helpful. And there’s this sense of peace in knowing that yeah, it really IS him and he’s a bit of a jerk. Well, actually, to use my ex-boyfriend’s own words when finally apologizing for his behavior, he’s “a creep.”

If you or anyone you know is in love with a man who is rude or absent or just plain destructive to a woman’s soul, then read this book, because if a man is into you, he’s not going to hurt you. He is going to move heaven and Earth to be with you and you will definitely be sure of his feelings.

I Think He’s Just Not That Into Her

If you are new, then let me introduce myself – I’m Michelle. I’m currently single, after a 1 -1/2 year long relationship. It was a long distance affair and my boyfriend was my first love – we gave it a second try more than 20 years later. Apparently, it didn’t work for him, as I have not heard from him for the past 4 months. He’s had some issues due to the economy – in particular unemployment – but there is no excuse for that sort of bad behavior. I reached out, as both a friend and a loved one and he ignored my attempts. 

I picked up a copy of He’s Just Not That Into You, by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo, yesterday. (If you’ve got a Target near you, you can find He’s Just Not That Into You for 20% off the publisher’s price.) A single friend of mine has been telling me to read it for ages.

I went straight to the part that has to do with The Disappearing Boyfriend. According to the book, this sort of guy is really, really isn’t into me, because he failed to leave even a post-it saying goodbye. Although in our case, I think it would been more like a text saying, “Can’t do it – good luck.” Instead, I got nothin’.

Until a couple of days ago when he sent me a friend request on Facebook.

Would you judge me if I said that I okayed it? I waited a full day to do so. Does that earn me any points?  I am not a bitter ex, not really even an official ex in this case, but part of me wants this man to see that I’m not moping, that I’m busy and active and have friends that are not him.

So, I might be updating my Facebook status a little more than normal. Any excuse to say, “Life is good,” works for me.

Dating Dames Is Now Relationships

It was something about the way that we were together. He stood out to me as someone singular and rare and beautiful, and I liked the way he was in the world. I liked the way he was with people. I liked the way he was with my son and the way he made me feel.

Sometimes I think about dating, about how hard it is to put myself out there, and I want to quit- I want to remain single. I tell myself it’s easier or it’s safer, that I don’t have the time. I’m good at making up excuses.

Then, I read something like that and I can remember feeling that way before. I can remember looking at a man that I cared about and thinking, “Oh yeah, he’s for me.”

I want to feel that way again. As much as I enjoy feeling proudly idependent, sometimes not having a partner leaves me feeling a bit hollow. Not that I’m a shell, but more there’s a space in me that I want to fill with a bit more love.

Jennifer Connelly is part of the ensemble cast of He’s Just Not that Into You, a movie that I’ve already mentioned wanting to see (I’m a Drew Barrymore fan). He’s Just Not That Into You opens February 6th.

When she knew he was The One

I remember reading about Drew Barrymore, who is both a star in the movie as well as one of the producers, getting together with Justin Long either while doing the movie or directly after the movie. I thought they them seemed like an interesting couple and I’ve always been a fan of Drew Barrymore (Especially in Never Been Kissed). I wonder if, now that they are broken up, it’s hard to travel and do press about the movie? I imagine that would be awkward.

He’s Just Not That Into You – Interview

Ken Kwapis has signed on to direct “He’s Just Not That Into You,” an adaptation of the best-selling commentary on the complications of modern-day relationships.

The movie’s story line sees a hard-line advice guy fall for a woman who seeks him out because she can’t figure out the men in her life.

Drew Barrymore and business partner Nancy Juvonen are producing the New Line project. The book was written by comedian Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo, who worked together on “Sex and the City” as a consultant and writer, respectively.

This movie is bound to be a chick flick but still, It would almost have to be fun and entertaining — at least from a woman’s perspective.
