High School Musical 3 is not due out in theaters until October 24, 2008, but Disney already has its marketing machine in full gear!
The official web site is up, trailers are on YouTube, you can even pre-order the High School Musical 3: Senior Year soundtrack. It also seems that every other commercial or music video on Disney Channel is for the new movie.

While doing back-to-school shopping it seems that High School Musical items from backpacks to pencils and everything in between are being sold everywhere you turn.

The final piece of the High School Musical puzzle has reportedly fallen into place. Zac Efron has signed a $3 Million contract to play HSM3’s heartthrob, Troy.  The other stars of the show had already agreed to return, most likely with pay raises – although Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Anne Hudgens aren’t revealing how much they will receive.
According to E! News, production on HSM3 will start in March, with Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman and Lucas Grabeel also scheduled to return.
High School Musical 3 was originally slated to be a Halloween movie, however the most recent storyline rumors include prom and graduation.
