Yesterday, TheGloss gave Mila Kunis props for attending the Marine Corps Ball, posted with the picture above. The event is something we can definitely get behind; as is the attendance of celebs like Kunis. But their use of plastic water bottles isn’t: The bottles don’t just look out of place at a black tie event, they’re also extremely wasteful. (Because, if you’ve ever been to an event like this, you know: Most people unscrew the top and take a couple of sips, not only wasting the bottle, but most of the water itself.) Do Your Guests a Favor: Offer (Some) Healthy Holiday Choices

Our sister site, Mommyish, ran a very insightful argument in favor of vegan and vegetarian kids taking control of their own Thanksgiving meals, rather than catering strictly to their choices. And yesterday, I recommended bringing your own stuffing if you’re a meat-free eater–because being an inconvenient vegetarian during the holiday season just isn’t polite. But doesn’t the host, too, have a responsibility? Completely ignoring your guests’ potential dietary restrictions or choices (including a desire to keep it low-fat, low-calorie, or proportionately raw) is sort of breaking the single most important rule of entertaining: be inclusive.
