Basically, solar powered Christmas lights run on the sun, a clean and green and cost effective resource. You place solar panels which attach to the lights in an area that receives sunlight (typically the area must get about 3 hours of sunlight a day) and the sun powers your Christmas lights through the night.

Solar powered Christmas lights are also available in many shapes, sizes and colors (as seen above) plus the rope version of solar powered lights come encased in a weatherproof PVC which protects them from moisture, making them perfect for outdoor lighting.

The PVC is not great, but overall, it’s a more economical and eco-friendly solution to non-renewable electricity. Another bonus of solar powered Christmas lights is that you don’t need to remember to plug them in or turn them on. These lights turn on automatically, making them a time, planet, and money saver.
