Floating Candles

I don’t know about you, but I love floating candles. It makes me think of natural beauty. I don’t know why it would bring that image to my mind, but it does. The key to creating a floating candle is to make it a short shape with it being slightly wider on the top than the bottom. Just to be a little different I made my candles square.
Here is what you will need to get started:

Paraffin Wax
Wicks and wick tabs
Muffin or a cupcake pan or novelty wax molds (I used square molds)

Maybe you have a couple of throw or sofa pillows that need a little sprucing up, or maybe you just need a fresh idea for some new pillows. Either way, I have a project here that you can complete in an hour or two without sewing a single stitch. A tie-on pillow cover applied to a couple of lounging pillows can change the look of a room.

Last week, I was hunting for some new vases and found this very cool black and white one with a geometric pattern. Geometric prints are trendy in fashion right now and that’s carrying over to home decor.
This 21-inch tall OP vase from Rain Collection makes a big statement at a small price. It’s on sale right now for just $50, marked down from $72.
RainCollection.com offers a variety …read more

Should You Decorate Your Home For Your Labrador?

Those of you who have dogs, understand how tedious it can be to keep the house hair-free…and also, whoever invented the Swiffer is a genius. (It’s really just a fancy paper towel, right?)
My life, especially my business, revolves around my preposterous and boundless love for my Chocolate Labrador Retriever, Trotter.
Trotter is a lovely dog, although, perhaps just as nuts as John Grogan’s willful Yellow Lab, Marcy.

But still, life without Trotter, just wouldn’t be chocolate-y enough for me!
However, when it comes to home decorating…I have had to figure out how the color brown or brown-compatible fits into the scheme …read more
