12 Days Of DIY: Holiday Terrarium

12 Days Of DIY: Holiday Terrarium

We’ve reached the second to last day! of Blisstree’s 12 Days of DIY. If you haven’t been following along, check out some of the other homemade holiday gift and decor tutorials we’ve been posting: Pomegranate and vanilla infused vodka, witch hazel body spray, salt dough ornaments and gift tags. Today’s project is one of the most complicated so far, but no special skills are required; it’s just that making a terrarium requires a few more props and a few more steps than, say, an herbal tea blend. Instructions for making this fruit-infused vodka come from “lawyer turned stay-at-home foodie mum” Ren Behan, who blogs about food and cooking at RenBehan.com. More »

For day seven, we bring you instructions on how to make your own sisal rope fruit bowl, like the one pictured above from thrifty DIY blogger Kate of Centsational Girl. It’s a great way to turn old, ugly or plain metal bowls and baskets into rustic, neutral and natural kitchen storage. More »

12 Days of DIY: Adjustable Knot Recycled-Leather Bracelet

12 Days of DIY: Adjustable Knot Recycled-Leather Bracelet

Make this bracelet with recycled leather from something else (like an old leather clothing item you own or pick up cheaply at the thrift store), or with another material if leather’s not your thing. The final product looks deceptively complicated, but making one is actually incredibly simple. Add a painted placket, beads or charms to personalize yours and you’ve got unique, homemade Christmas gifts for your best girls, your roommates or anyone else you want to know you appreciate at this time of year without spending a lot of money.
