]]> Technology goes so fast that consumer electronics gets outdated in a few short years.   Cellphone for example takes about 3 years before you need to replace it.    In fact I know some people replace their cell phone every year.  No wonder there are tons of  “electronic junk” in our house.  If would be nice if there is a way to recycle your cell phones.

So how do you recycle cell phones? This is one of the questions being asked by “green”  gadget lovers.   Mobile phones may contain toxic substances that is harmful to the environment if it were just thrown in landfills.     Here are ways on how to recycle cell phones

1.  Sell them in Ebay.

If the phone is still working, I bet there are people who are still interested in purchasing your working equipment.  If you can get $20-$50 for a used phone,  why not?

2.   Sell your old cell phones to a local mobile phone store

Some mobile phone stores sell 2nd hand phones.  If there’s one in your area,  you may try asking them if they buy old cell phones.    In some cases, even if the phone is dead, they still buy it for parts.   They just get parts from other phones to build a working refurbished unit.
