I went from making a significant salary with long hours…to $0 salary and inSANE hours. There isn’t one moment of the day when I am not thinking about The Pet Set.

There are 2, and only 2 things that a small business owner (any business really) should be spending the most time on. Getting customers (sales) and keeping customers (service).

Intellectually, I know that is how my business will grow and become successful…and that maybe someday, I’ll be able to purchase my own lingerie without asking my husband for money.

But here’s the rub, I’m home alone all day…sometimes 14 hours until my husband returns from work.

This makes trying to stay disciplined enough to make those excruciating cold calls, writing the press releases, checking in on current clients and whatever else it takes to bring exposure to my company…a very difficult existence.

But I’m trying. The fact that Rachael Ray is on right now, and that the dog has to go out…may mean that phoning Vogue to see what they thought about my samples…will have to wait.
