Evil Chihuahua

Evil Chihuahua

So Pablo the Chihuahua isn’t really evil, he just really likes to tease his bigger Doberman brother Ramsey with a dog toy! This cute video, taken by Pablo and Ramsey’s owner Chad, shows “playtime” between the two dogs. I find it especially funny because I’ve seen my own two Chihuahuas acting like this, and what makes it cuter to us is that they both know the other is messing around.
In the video, Pablo baits the very patient Ramsey with the toy, all the while doing what we call The Very Vicious Growl. Ramsey very carefully inches closer and closer to …read more

New Simon’s Cat in “Hot Spot”

Simon Tofield, creator of the online animation shorts titled “Simon’s Cat,” has created a brand new one for his fans! The short, hand-drawn animations have quite the following, and several of the videos have already won awards.
“Hot Spot” was created to celebrate the release of Simon’s book, titled, of course, “Simon’s Cat.” The 40-second video shows the lengths that his feline friend will go to to get the warm spot under the desk lamp. I wonder who rang the doorbell?
Check out the other “Simon’s Cat” shorts, including Fly Guy, TV Dinner, Let Me In!, Wake Up!, and even one about …read more

Your Daily Dose of Sewing Humor

Have you ever been inspired to sing about your sewing machine?
Does your sewing machine affect your social life?
How about your energy at the end of the day?
Well, even if you haven’t, this clip of Betty Hutton singing “The Sewing Machine” is sure to make any seamstress (sewer just doesn’t look right, somehow) smile or even laugh…
Admittedly, I don’t get out and do a lot of dancing these days, but it’s still a fun little bit of sewing humor

Crafty Giggles for the Weekend

Do you need a giggle to get your long weekend going?
Comedian Leslie Hall is known for her over-the-top embellished sweaters (check out her tongue in cheek gallery on her website)  In this video she celebrates the creation of the "worlds largest gem sweater"… complete with backup knitters!
Put down the beverages while you watch though…
See, isn’t a little laughter a good way to start the day?  Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go make something sparkly

That Brooch Is How Much??

I was browsing through one of my favorite fashion websites the other day, looking for a particular piece of jewelry for my other blog, when something caught my eye…
Oh look, it’s a cute little pin that looks like a child sewed it:

Actually, I’ve taught 5 year olds to sew who had neater stitches than that…
And then I took a look at the price.

These brooches retail for $188.00, US funds.
That’s right, pennies worth of fabric and sloppy stitching will run you the cost of a big grocery shop or a good pair of shoes.
I think I’m in the wrong business…

I Knew It: Conspirators

It’s never hard to find one of our cats doing something cute — whether it’s sleeping in an odd position or in a weird place, or, in the case of Turbo:

Conspiring with my husband’s Dexter bobblehead when he thinks we’re not looking.
I wonder if we should be worried?

Nothing Kills A Marriage Faster Than Humor

To be fair…I’m talking about a very specific kind of humor. Not the fun “I love you” or “You’re so silly” jovial humor that every relationship should have. I’m referring to the soul sucking, marriage exploding humor that works it’s way into the conversation when you are dining with an unhappy couple.
This weekend, Paul and I went out with an older couple we had not seen in a while. They’re probably in their mid-forties and have been married four times as long as Paul and I.
After the obligatory small talk to ease into the evening, the discussion got a little …read more

Funny Things Kids Say: The Full Name

I have always loved talking to people about my children’s full names. No one ever understands why my kids have so many. Course then they don’t understand that when you are in a public place and yell “Jennifer” about 15 of them turn around or no one pays attention. Here’s a cute “Funny” that happened with my friend Katelyn over at AllHolidayCafe.
My sister’s little boy is the fourth in his family with the same name (IV) and we thought he understood what that meant. However, today he told his grandma that since he was 5 now, when we use his …read more

Win a Copy of The Parent Trip

This book sounds absolutely hysterical to me. I’m jealous of the Blisstree readers today because one of you lucky people will win a copy of The Parent Trip by Jenna McCarthy.

Here’s a description from the author:
Buckle up for a hilarious ride from conception and pregnancy through the first wild-eyed, miraculous months with a baby. The Parent Trip: From High Heels and Parties to Highchairs and Potties exposes the alternately scary, exhilarating, maddening, treacherous, magical underbelly of motherhood in all of its side-splitting glory. Candid, thought-provoking chapters include “Why It’s Better to Be You Than Gwen Stefani,” “’Take Me …read more

Wordy Wednesday: Piddling Pup

This video from America’s Funniest Home Videos actually leaves me a little speechless:

First, I think it’s hilarious when small dogs are able to walk around on only their front legs like it’s nothing. Our chihuahua Chip has managed to do this when he’s particularly interested in marking a certain spot in the backyard — usually a wall, so maybe it’s instinctual to get as much area covered as possible, I just don’t know.
Secondly, what on Earth is this tiny dog drinking that he unloads a gallon of liquid during the course of the video? Holy cow!
Third: Don’t get any on …read more
