It took a long time for post-traumatic stress disorder to be classified as a real diagnosis and even longer to find ways to help people who were experiencing it. You can have a mild version of PTSD or you can have life-affected PTSD, making it almost impossible to live as you would like.
Sadly, many people who live with PTSD are returning service men and women. Regardless of their work in countries like Iraq and Afghanistan, the events they see, hear, their experiences, have an enormous impact on them once they return home.

U.S. Troops
I’m sorry, I don’t usually focus on such things, but this cracked me up:
’nuff said. I do have to mention, that there are several Ph.d.’s in the U.S. armed forces, not to mention a couple of Rhodes scholars, Mr. Kerry — and doesn’t our Armed Forces offer educational direction as one of the benefits?
Calling All Petite Clothing Designers!
I promise you, I truly understand that there are profound circumstances taking place in our world today: The war in Iraq, global warming, a missle in North Korea pointed at Seattle, Nicole Kidman’s wedding, et al…but there is also a retail situation going on that has me just as skittish.
Large department stores, such as Bloomingdales, Sak’s Fifth Avenue and the like…have either cut out or grossly diminished their petite clothing lines. (This tells us that either it’s true we’ve become a nation of obese people, or petite sized women simply don’t matter to designers). I think the latter.
