Both books are great for introducing the virtue of respecting others that may not look like you. On a more serious note, you can use the books to talk about bullying and how it can affect children. Written by Jill Kuczmarski, the books are inspired by stories of the hoax/folklore among lumberjacks in Wisconsin.

How the Moon Regained Her Shape is a lavishly illustrated children’s book inspired by native American legends about celestial bodies. It’s about how the moon diminished in beauty when the sun bullied her out of the sky. A comet restores the moon’s brilliance when he showed how creatures on Earth needed her light and beauty. More than just being a storybook, this children’s tale helps children cope with bullies and how parents can be involved.

I have three copies of these books to give-away. Here’s how to join -
