Accent On Bigotry
I have noticed lately–in advertising and news broadcasting–an increase in the use of folks with British (or Australian) accents. I think in this country, we sometimes assume a person with a British accent is intelligent and a person with, say a Brooklyn accent, is not.
The situation in the average work place is often similar. Consider this: Two employees seeking the same promotion or a plumb assignment:
Person a) From Britain, sounds as if he’s worked for the Queen, but has an average education.

Analyzing Your Dreams
I wanted to get to this post before it became time to take Trotter out for his walk. I tossed and turned all night, thinking about deadlines, ideas, commitments for both The Pet Set, Family and Blog Fabulous. (I TOATLLY forgot that this Sunday is Easter, that’s how busy I’ve been.)
It dawned on me that much of my worrying and sleeplessness resembled what my condition was like when I worked my “real” jobs in Corporatetown:
Obsessing over marketing strategies
Worrying about looming deadlines
Regrets about something I said to someone
Confusion about how to move forward
Feeling inadequate when sales or contacts slow down
