When it was completed in 1937, the 6-lane Golden Gate Bridge was the longest suspension bridge in the world.
It’s also a popular spot for Bay area suicides, as over 1,200 people have jumped from the bridge to the water 220 feet (67 m) below. Sadly, less than 30 have survived. The California Highway Patrol even has a special radio code (“10-31”) to designate a bridge jumper.

This old Honda (a C-100, I believe) motorcycle was spotted parked against a wall outside my hotel.  You could tell it was a daily commuter and dated back to the late 1960s.

With a sign older than dirt and a sheet metal cowboy greeting customers in front, Dixie Sheet Metal looks like it’s from a bygone era.

Located on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile, the John Hancock Building (or Big John), is the third tallest of the three 100+ story skyscrapers that dominate Chicago’s skyline.
The Sears Tower at 108 stories and the Aon Center (formerly the Standard Oil Building) are number one and two respectively.
The Hancock building’s 94th floor observatory is open daily, as is The Signature Room, the restaurant and cocktail lounge serving food and drinks at new heights, on the 95th floor.
