Writing Down This History

I know I have been beaten to the punch by Notebookism, but they’re right; the US election is history in the making. This moment is history in the making. Wow, there is a black president in the US. I was intrigued by the news coverage. The event has generated much discussion amongst those I engage with day to day, so I must urge you to write about this moment in history.

A Journal Moment – Bon Scott Statue

Sometimes I forget to write current events in my journal. I haven’t really figured out why yet. Perhaps it’s simply because that space is really my own. Unless a moment has a particular impact on me it may remain unnoted in my journal. I couldn’t ignore this one, though. Journal Writing Current Events

One thing I notice when reading back in my own journals is the lack of details on current events. I do mention anything relevant to myself and my family, but I often leave out anything happening in the news.
Each time I reread entries I make a more concerted effort afterwards to include those events happening around me and in the news.
