Multi-Functional Tubs

I don’t know the story behind this photo, but it looks as if the tub is trying to escape a bad habitat.
To see a tub used as a coffee table, old dental office equipment turned lamp and a side-table safe, check out House Tour: Patrick’s World of Wonder at apartment therapy. Click on the slideshow. It’s a marvelous loft that’s done up junk-style supreme.
And if you tire of that wonder, there’s the always-incredible 6 Uses for Your Old Bathtub at Simply Thrifty.
Have you reused a tub?

Skipping the Big Christmas Tree?

It’s going to sound Scrooge of me…
I’m not putting up a tree this year.
I’m still unpacking from my recent move, so digging out Christmas decor seems a bit much right now.
However, if you’re dealing with a small space, tight schedule or unruly cat, you might enjoy the Folded Christmas Tree Craft that Katelyn is featuring at All Holiday Cafe!
And the folded tree is truly a recycled tree, isn’t it?
Do you have any small Christmas tree projects to share?

Journey to Five Junk Projects

Online dumpster diving is a bit neater, isn’t it?
At the ground level we’re walking into tin can pincushion from Derek and Lauren at Design Sponge. They repurposed kitty’s tuna can into a neat pincushion.
Going up to the second floor of the junk house, we have how to turn broken speakers into a snappy media cabinet from ReadyMade + Instructables.
Time for a craft break of sorts. Look at this Sad Sack post from Angelica at Swapatorium. You might get a few good ideas or at least a laugh.
Up on the fourth floor, make a cork trivet with apartment therapy.
And now, up …read more

The Ultimate Barn Reuse at Offbeat

I can’t say I’ve ever wanted to live in a barn until I saw the barn house Jennifer at Offbeat Homes is coveting.
She wants that house, but so do I. I’m guessing millions of people would get into a mudfight among the neighboring pigs for that barn house. Check it out. The house is much nicer than the pig photo, but I couldn’t help myself.

Junk Lovin Links

I’m not the only one talking junk around the Lifestyles Channel.
Linette at Mother Earth’s Garden links you to a way to turn your plain clay pots into chalkboard pots for easy labeling year after year.
Cyndi at Layers Upon Layers shows you how to make a paper weaving.
Maricar at Keeping the Castle is reading my mind. I recently bookstore-adored a junk book she’s discussing in her post for Earth Day. That means I didn’t buy the book, but cruised through it in the store. : ) The book is called Decorating Junk Market Style by Sue Whitney and Ki Nassauer. …read more
