Chili Dawg is a quirky creation from junk artist Junkyard Gypsy at Etsy. This assemblage artist uses mostly vintage or antique materials, including at least one item that was landfill-bound.

I’m guessing Chili Dawg wouldn’t mind being used as a bird feeder on your patio. Or you could possibly use it as an herb garden if you added some drain holes. I suppose you could just adore it inside a screened porch as well.

New Poll — What’s Your Favorite Type of Junk Creation?

junk-sign-junk.jpgThe new poll is up in the sidebar. You know what to do.

I want to find out about your favorite type of junk creation.

Is it a clothing creation like the bra purse (but not necessarily using underwear), a metal creation like Nuts the Junkyard Dog, a simple reuse project like the tea tag bookmarks or the cat toy from a ketchup bottle, or it is a project you can more easily add your own personal stamp to (like the decoupage vacation mementos sour cream container into a flowerpot I’m working on for next week). But maybe it’s just that you prefer to buy homemade junk creations?

Let me know and we’ll discuss next month.

Do we need a mascot around here?

Nuts the Junkyard Dog from chimpfeet is begging to apply, but I’m more of a cat person. Sorry, Nuts.

This loyal doggie is handmade from recycled metal and will rust with time outside. He’s a little expensive ($75), but he does stand 12 inches tall after all.

Remember to enter our EcoHanger contest by end of day Saturday, April 26.
