Kirstie Alley’s new weight loss company, Organic Liaison, celebrated its grand opening earlier this month, attracting attention in Hollywood and skepticism among some customers: Can a fat woman really give good weight loss advice? For many, including Carter Cramer of The Faster Times, the answer is no: “…it’s not like she has solved her own problem here, and therefore has great knowledge to impart. Today, as she unveils her new, revolutionary system, she would still be classified as overweight, and therefore it would be only fair to assume that she has not conquered her own weight issues. I think the phrase “lead by example” can be called upon here,” he says.
