While the economy was booming, high priced kitchen remodeling projects were the norm. $25,000-$50,000 deluxe remodels with gleaming chrome appliances, top quality tile flooring and thick granite counter tops could be found in townhouses that their owners purchased for $200,000 or less. Because the price of homes continued to climb, the owners were able to enjoy their restaurant quality kitchens for a year or two and then sell the homes, complete with deluxe kitchens for a profit.
