Lasang Pinoy 14: Callos
It’s time for the 14th edition of Lasang Pinoy, titled A La Espanyola (in the Spanish style)! I just posted my entry over at my personal food blog, stefoodie.net. If you’re in the mood for some Spanish/Filipino tripe in a tomato-based sauce, come on over.
Lasang Pinoy 1st Anniversary: Definitive Pinoy!
Welcome to the First Anniversary Edition of Lasang Pinoy. We’ve had an outstanding year of friendship, sharing and celebrating our Filipino heritage through food. Just see our archives at lasangpinoy.org to feast on the last twelve months’ blog posts and round-ups of Pinoy dishes, both traditional and innovative… but always food that’s sariling atin (all our own).

Ces of Essences hosts this month’s Lasang Pinoy and what a theme! Perfect for the close to our first year of Lasang Pinoy — we’re on our Twelfth Edition!

Learning about Culture over a Bowl of…. Offal?
I just read this lovely article by John Birdsall, where he writes about the cultural gaps that are bridged when we partake of a dish that’s “foreign” to us — the story at the end is rather touching, as he recounts a breakfast of dinuguan and rice given to him by someone he now calls “Mom”.
What perfect timing, as Lasang Pinoy 9, the Filipino food blogging event, was just launched. This time Cia of Pabulum is hosting — her theme? Odd Cuts and Guts!
Though I pretty much stay away from offal these days, for …read more
