Dana-Thomas House in Springfield, IL

If you’re a fan of Frank Lloyd Wright architecture, you probably already know that the Dana-Thomas House in Springfield, IL is one to see. This house contains the largest collection of original (site-specific) glass, furniture and art. Or perhaps I should say “furniture art.” Wright meticulously planned everything, even the dining table and room chairs.
The 35-room house was Wright’s first commission in which he had total freedom. Built in 1902, the home was designed for socialite Susan Lawrence Dana. The Dana-Thomas House is the best preserved example of Wright’s early Prairie-style work.
