Yesterday we had a guest post. If you follow this blog, you’ll know that I don’t have many guest posts here. In fact, I think we’ve had just two in the last year and a half, and they were super good blogger pals of mine. I’m picky when it comes to Offbeat.

That said, I was recently offered a guest post from the bloggers over at the newer, but cool ChicTip.com. I like the blog, I like the bloggers, and I like when good new design blogs emerge, hence, a guest post from them. Also, I like their about page, which notes, “We feature stores, products, artists, reviews, sales, contests announcements, trends-in-the-make and more. Because this isn’t just a blog, it’s a community – for designers seeking inspiration, and for amateur design enthusiasts. This is a place where we can all come together, sharing our ideas, tips, and questions with like-minded people.” Which is totally my thinking about blogs – open, friendly, old-school community, and not snobby at all. Very nice.

Today I thought we’d look at ChicTip a little closer. They have some great posts so far and are worth a visit. Such as…

Modern Menorahs – Our Top 5 List

They even make nice inspiration boards – which rocks. I like this one above: Back to The 50s – Inspiration Board

ChicTip has design tips, eco-design, furniture, materials, and even a few kid and green decor items I hadn’t heard of yet (impressive since I blog kid and green decor all over the darn web). I recommend you hit them up and see all their goodies.

Modern Sky Hill Townhomes in Atlanta are showcased at Jetson Green. I’m not a townhouse fan exactly, but I like how these look – unique and green. Here’s a taste:

Well the news is that they’ve just launched a brand new blog! and there’s more…

Imagine my delight, when I recently landed a new blogging gig with the Inhabitat team. Oh yes, I said it. I’ll be blogging on their brand new venture, Inhabitots. Am I excited – uh, yeah. but you shouldn’t visit just to see little ol’ me (although I know you want to). There are plenty of good reasons to visit this new pint-sized, design savvy blog.

1. If you’ve got tiny ones running around, and still would like to maintain your design sense, then this is the place for you. Inhabitots is covering all sorts of goodies like…

2. You can visit the above posts to keep your abode offbeat and stylish, yet still friendly enough for little feet.

3. It’s flipping Inhabitat – you know this stuff will be good. Enough said.

In any case, of course I’ll still be blogging away about quirky stuff here at Offbeat, but I’d love to see you over at my new haunt as well. See you there.

Tonight some leftover but still pretty fresh links. Weeks ago I started a link love post, and realized that I had too many links, so I set a few aside for another time. Then I promptly forgot all about said links. Going through my bookmarks today, and guess what I found? The links. These are some links I adore, that should have been shown off sooner. Way sooner. Ah well.

Pacific Northwest Regional Architecture – this is a killer link if you happen to love PNW homes and designs. I spent a lot of time here looking around. They have some amazing houses posted. This blog is a dream come true; a great mix of classic and new PNW architecture, and a smattering of reader sent photos of things like tree houses and garden projects. I highly recommend a visit. I don’t have a favorite post because I really enjoy the whole site. I think though, since I rarely show commercial buildings, I’ll give you a taste of this blog with this gas station shot:

Do you think it’s ok to want to live at the gas station? Hmmm. Go see all the Pacific Northwest beauty.

Next up; stop what you’re doing right now, click this link, and go grab a smile!

Can you guess what sort of structure this is?:

Do you want a clue? It’s a commercial structure full of paper. Still don’t know – go here to find out what this beautiful structure is.

Lastly an odd, but very cool site. I’m not sure what it is exactly this company does; not entirely anyhow. They appear to be a design co, working with clients all over the world. That’s important, but not why you need to visit this website. You should visit because I’m convinced that I can’t be the only person on the planet to get lost at this site for a while. Their pencil is a little intoxicating. I’m serious. Visit and see.
