Are you trying to wean yourself off of juice and other high-cal beverages? Me too. While I feel like everyone’s always telling me to mix sparkling water with juice, I’ve found something much better: Maguary Cashew Juice. This “neutral-flavored,” delicate juice is available imported from Brazil, and is 84% juice. With a single 500 ml bottle, you’ll make 5 liters of juice: a single cup of water just needs a tablespoon-and-a-half of the juice concentrate. The best part? It’s $5.00 or less ($2.79 in Miami), and has only 10 calories per serving. What a perfectly refreshing way to grab a [...]
Post from: Blisstree

I did it– I broke down and signed up for Self.com’s challenge. I’m not sure how I feel about it, since I did sign up once before and didn’t get much out of it, but I know the secret is in your motivation and dedication. This year I’m (oddly enough) overflowing with it, so here goes: my Self Challenge, Round II. If anyone who reads this blog has signed up, find me! I am meieli– I need to find my user link! I’m also going to go over and become friends with Christina tonight.

So when I signed on, I did my usual. I went straight for the food. I love learning new, healthy recipes, and I must admit that the Self exercise challenge wasn’t exactly thrilling me for Month 1. Three days of exercise for 25 minutes? I’m not feeling particularly inspired by that… but the FOOD! That’s a different story altogether. My diet could always improve, and even though I’ll be slogging through those exercises, I have dedicated much more time to choosing my Top 4 Spring/Summer Weight Loss Foods. Out goes the chocolate. Here comes the:

1. Watermelon. It kills your cravings for sweet stuff and also quenches your thirst.

2. Tabouli. I’m planning on mixing in a ton of salad greens, herbs, and fresh veggies for a light mix.

3. Fruity desserts. I’d like to find a fruit I don’t like. I’m going to branch out and go all tropical this year, with fruit salads including Passion and Ugli fruit.

4. Naturally low-cal drinks. Boo to the diet stuff! I’m headed for natural teas sans sweeteners this time around.

I’ll let you know how it goes!
