Which Hand?

After reading some of this article about Leonardo Di Vinci and the evidence of his left handedness, I got to thinking about hand preference. I am hopelessly right handed. I am lucky to do anything but hold things with my left hand. When it comes to writing or drawing or making any kind of a mark, I could create nothing you’d recognise with my left hand.
But, the idea of using your other hand, the one you don’t prefer, is used by psychologists with journal writing as a technique to gain access to inner wisdom.

Journal Dialogue

Another useful technique to use in your journal writing is Dialogues. This technique is similar to the unsent letter or letter to your future self, except you also write the response from the person you are addressing. Another difference is that you don’t even have to dialogue with an actual person. You might choose to speak, or write, back and forth with an event, a part of your inner self, a memory, a part of your body or a non-existent person such as a sage or wise counsellor who passes on words of wisdom.
