Madonna Adoption Delayed
Madonna won’t know until next week if her son, David, will be formally adopted, as the judge has delayed her hearing. A Malawian human rights group presented arguments on the country’s adoption laws.
Although the group is apparently not challenging Madonna’s specific case, Lawyer Alan Chinula stated that he believed the adoption would be approved next week.
The Ritchie couple was not present at the hearing to hear the Malawian Human Rights Commission protest the adoption laws (like parents residing in Malawi for 18 months).
Madonna Seeks Delay in Adoption
According to the Washington Post, Madonna has requested a delay in her Malawian court hearing. The court hearing is to finalize the adoption of her future son, David Banda. and was originally scheduled for April 22.
Madonna has apparently requested this change because of business travel in the US but court officials have not yet confirmed if they have received the application.
