This just hasn’t been a good few weeks for canine world record holders. Earlier last month Gibson, the tallest dog in the world, lost his battle to cancer, and just last week the world’s oldest dog also passed away.

A Maltese terrier puppy in New Zealand may be the smallest dog in the world, weighing in at only 14 ounces.

The six-month old fluffy white puppy, named Scooter, is also only three inches tall and just under eight inches in length, from nose to tail.
Though he is still considered a puppy, his owner Cheryl McKnight, from the east coast of New Zealand’s North Island, says he seems to have stopped growing. Hope, a one year-old Maltese puppy with only nubs where her front legs should be, is finally getting a chance to see what life is like with a little mobility!
The custom designed harness is attached to independently moving arms that are actually attached to model airplane wheels, and with a just a bit of push from her hind legs she’s able to move around almost as she should as opposed to the hopping she previously did.
