Completed in 80 AD, the Colosseum is one of the most recognizable structures in the world.
Between the time it was build and the 6th century, it was used for battle reenactments, animal hunts of species collected from across the Roman Empire, as well as other public spectacles and events including public executions and the slaughter of Christians.
