Whether you’re involved in your craft as a business (income producing venue) or simply for your own pleasure, media releases (traditionally called press releases) to promote your products, services, workshops, book, or simply yourself as a craftsperson can be very useful.

Often quilters send out press or media releases to announce a new book, a class they’re teaching, a talk they’re giving, or an accomplishment of interest in qulting/fabric art world or their local community. However, they may not know how best to word the releases nor where to send them.
Carolyn Howard-Johnson has become a promotional expert, learning by promoting her own books and classes. Even though she’s not a quilt book writer, the tips she gives are valuable to anyone who uses media outlets.
