8MinuteDating – Speed Dating Service

TangoWire is a network of more than 70 online dating communities. Each community targets “both general and specialized areas of interests.”  They make a big point of saying that they will never share or sell your private information and you will receive no spam.

It says that the membership is free and with membership you can send and receive email, create a profile, and “smile” at other members, put from the way it’s worded here, it sounds as if you do have to pay to become a “premium” member at some point. Why do they do the tricky wording? 

If you give U.S. Military Singles a try, let me know how it goes. And remember to avoid these  online dating mistakes – when you do reply, focus on personality-based comments, not looks. Research shows you are more likely to get a response that way. Good luck!

Online Dating For US Military Singles

At Events and Adventures we have a different philosophy – Create a naturally fun environment, where you can relax and be yourself along with 20 or 30 other singles who also are there to have fun.  When you are relaxed, having fun, and NOT comparing marriage resumes, it is WAY easier to find someone worth dating.  Sounds counter intuitive, but its true.  And you get to have a great time in the process.

Most former dating service members who join E&A say they meet more new friends at their first event than they met in all the time they belonged to a dating service.

For the next step, Chemistry.com will send you up to 5 matches a day. These matches are suited to your personality, as identified by your Personality Profile quiz. In addition, they will notify you when someone is interested in meeting you.

After that there’s the 1.2.3. MEET Process which is where you get to know members online. You can ask short questions and start emailing at this point.

Chemistry.com has a section called Relationship Central. It’s here that you can find helpful articles on topics like, “Are you Ready to Find the One,” or “Romantic Chemistry, Explained.”

I’m curious if the free communication weekend really gives you a enough time to find someone. A few years back, I tried the Free eHarmony weekend and the process was so slow that I never even got to the email part of the meeting before the weekend was over. It’s LawDate, the “Attorney Dating System.”  Today is the official launch date for the new service that was founded by Wendy C. Freedman, CEO of The Dolce Network, Inc., and an attorney herself.

The Dolce Network, Inc., was created to help eligible professionals meet other people in their field (and beyond). Other online dating sites that will be launched shortly include TheDrDate.com, CapitoHillDate.com, and EntertainmentIndustryDate.com.

The purpose of the service is to match up singles with like-minded interests, personality, and I’m guessing lifestyle, since the name of the company and the target client – lawyers -  is right there in the title.

Find Yourself a Lawyer With LawDate.com

As singles, we have to figure out what sort of relationship we are looking for – something serious, something casual, something long term. We have to get out there and meet people and places like club meetings, the park, or while doing our favorite hobbies work just as well for a 6th grader as they do for a woman of 25, 30, 40.

Most importantly, we need to be true to ourselves, no matter what age. Pretending is not going to lead to any sort of lasting friendship or dating relationship. You can’t keep up pretense forever and who would want to anyway?  It’s exhausting.

If you are a dork, be a dork, because there are plenty of people out there who appreciate dorks (like me… okay, I’m a dork, too). If you are a runner or a ceramics painter or a coffee fan or a dog lover or a movie buff, do those things that you love and while doing them, smile at the people around you, because you never know when your next potential friend or date might appear.

Finding a Friend, Just Like Finding a Date

Remember when you were a kid, how easy it was to make friends?  You were offered up a new selection every Fall when you returned to school or you could hang with the kids in your neighborhood. Either way, there were so many options and the rules were pretty simple – play outside until Mom called you in for dinner.

Then, there was high school and it was pretty much the same, only you had more kids to chose from. Need a best friend in high school, grab the one who dresses like you. Easier to pick out boys back then, too.

As an adult, it’s harder. You work, you run errands, you clean your house, whatever. Life is busy and friend-shopping is no longer easy. For a long time, I made acquataince-friends with neighbors and that worked out okay, we’d chat some, but they were usually married or in some way living a very different type of life than the one that I lead.

I found a couple of old friends on MySpace – Leah and Jackie – and suddenly I had real-world  girlfriends again. Oh joy! And that’s not sarcastic, I love those girls, time with them is pure joy.
