You might be wondering why I’m blogging about a business idea in a dating blog, huh? Well, listen to this: Put up a dog walking/renting center near a park. The market will be single men. What services will you be offering? You accept dogs from owners to walk them, hence, dog walker services. Then men can rent a dog to walk, which they can then use to meet women!

I told you it’s funny.

You’ve got to admit that most women would find dogs adorable and it’s easy to spark up a conversation and commence flirting, using a dog as an ice-breaker. Plus it gives you an image that you’re “safe” and — I don’t know… there’s simply something about men who loves dogs that most women find attractive.

So, what do you guys think? Will this business fly?

Well, according to this article I came across, you and your mate should…

One, use an opener that’s untrusive and un-alarming. Something like, “Hi, do you mind if we sit with you at this table until our other friend gets here? She’s running late for some reason.” Of course, it should be in a venue that’s somehow packed and would give you a reason to ask that from these women, okay?

Two, once seated you will act as if you and your mate had no intention of starting a conversation with the two women. Keep an open ear to what they are talking about but continue talking to your mate about other things.

Three, after a moment or two you should…

Move a little closer to the girl nearest to you and lean in. With a smile, look her straight in the eye and say: “Okay, I have a question for you. Imagine you were sitting over there at the bar and you saw two girls, like yourselves, sitting at a table like this one. Then, you saw two guys like us come over like we did, sit down and start talking to those girls. What would you think?”

From my point of view, this simple question has the potential to be effective. It’s a situational question that will provide an avenue for people in that table to engage in a conversation that somehow highlights the opinion of the other person and not your own. A girl will find it flattering since it somehow shows that you appreciate her mind.

Hook Up Tip: The Unmask Method

It’s actually not a bad idea if you think of it. What do you really need in a site to find someone you can date anyway? Isn’t it all about finding a person whom you can connect with?

I’ve got to admit that I have gone on dates with people I met through sites like these — social networking sites, I mean. I can’t say it’s 100% better than online dating sites, it’s just another alternative to finding Mr. Right.

What I like about the dates I’ve gone to are the idea that I’m not “forced” to be romantic with them right away because all of these dates are of platonic nature, er, at least, on my part and that they are guys I’ve actually interacted with and find something in common through the sites.

I guess when I tried the online dating sites, I’m pressured by the idea that the guys expect me to go into dating and the whole she-bang straight away. I’m under the impression that the expectations are solely directed toward creating a romantic relationship. I may be at fault here but, hey, these sites aren’t called online dating sites for nothing, right?

Bottomline is perhaps if you’re not comfortable with the idea of meeting dates online, social networking sites are a good option for you. At the very least you’ll be meeting new friends you can simply hang out with if you’re not in the mood for dating just yet.

I’ve been a Skype user for quite a while now. Though, I’ve never considered it as a medium to meet the man of my dreams just for the reason that I only use it for personal [family & friends] and work reasons.

When I came across this article at the LA Times and read the dating stories that Skype helped bridge, I’m amazed at the possibilities and with such positive results, too!

We’ve all met significant others at school, work, church or through a relative or friend and even on the internet isn’t all that different these days – so what about the old saying “when it’s meant to happen, love will find you?”

I’ll start…

A couple I know who’ve been happily married for over 10 years met at the local parent meeting place for the exchange of kids on visitation nights.

Every Wednesday and every other Friday, our local McDonald’s seems like an ocean filled with single parents trading off kids.  I have to admit, it’s a cleaver way of meeting people and to know they are obviously single and even what weekends they’re likely to be free.
