What happened was that the town hall was given 30 units of solar panels. These have been installed on the roof of the building already last weekend. And when the sun comes a-shining, then the town hall will not need worry because power will not be coming from the grid.

The whole solar roofing project was really not heavy on the pocket of the town. See, they were able to purchase the needed materials with the help of a grant that amounted to $23,250. Plus, there were those with kind hearts who gave additional materials plus those who volunteered to do the task. Estimates have it that the whole of Merrillville will be able to save $600 at the very least for a year. That is thanks to the solar panels.
