Tonight on Prime Time: What Would You Do?

A baby in a hot car, what would you do? Would you go to the rescue or would you keep on walking by? According to ABC news, almost 40 children die from hypothermia after being left alone in a hot car. But many of those kids are saved, or could be saved by passersby.
In fact, if Chase Harrison had been left in a crowded parking lot, he too, could have been saved.

Russian Adoptions Halted?

There has forever been the threat of Russian adoptions being halted, as Russians are very protective of their children, especially when their children are in American families. However, after numerous deaths (see sidebar) and the most recent acquittal of Miles Harrison, originally charged with involuntary manslaughter, the Russian government is even more apt to ban Americans from adopting.
The Russian authorities have called to restrict or end the adoption of Russian children by Americans.

Agency Barred after VA Toddler’s Death

The two agencies suspended last week, The Cradle of Hope and Family and Children’s Agency were banned because of numerous violations during routine checks.
A third agency,  European Adoption Consultants, EAC, is now undergoing a thorough investigation because they did not report the incident in a timely manner.
Alexei Golovan, the Moscow ombudsman, said that Agencies must be held accountable for their work. “If they fail to meet their responsibilities, they should be barred from operating in Russia,” he said, adding that he would like to see more Russian parents adopt children.
