Still haven’t got something for Mother’s Day? Not to worry. I’ve got a frugal and easy gift to make that won’t take very long. In other words, you can STILL give it to your mom for her big day.
A few years ago I was broke. Broker than broke! I had no money for a nice gift, but I decided to let my mom know how much I appreciated her. I wrote out on plain white paper, little thoughts and memories from our lives. In some cases, I wrote quotes I really …read more
Last-Minute Mother’s Day Gift Idea

Potholders with pockets can make great gift containers for an assortment of kitchen goodies you put together yourself.
Here’s the gift I picked out: I walked into Williams-Sonoma and picked up a cute Provence pot holder, Chef’n Salad Dressing Emulsifier and some gourmet extra-virgin olive oil in a cute bottle with wax seal and a bottle of Dijon mustard.
Since the Chef’n Salad Dressing Emulsifier contains dressing recipes right on the bottle, I was able to pick out a couple of the ingredients to include with the gift. Another ingredient choice might have been balsamic vinaigrette. You could also opt to include …read more

If Mom’s a cat lover, what could be more fun that a custom Cat Mom Portrait? I saw these Etsy creations featured on moderncat recently.
Susan Faye, the artist, offers the custom original watercolor paintings of your mom (or other female) and five cats of your choice. You can get more details at Etsy. It’s too late to get one of these in time for Mother’s Day, but it would make a great birthday gift as well.
Have you incorporated cats into your Mother’s Day gifts before?

Motorcycle Tire Vase for Mom?

According to eco-artware.com, this recycled tire vase “doesn’t smell at all like rubber.”
That’s one hurdle. But what would Mom think of this vase? I dig on it, but seriously doubt my mom would like it.
The tire vase is made of the inner tube of a motorcycle tire, and it stands on its own without a framework. It may also be used as an office organizer.
Would your mom like this? Do you like it for yourself?

Give Her the Motherboard

That’s right. Give Mom a Motherboard Grip Top Clipboard for Mother’s Day. I doubt someone else is thinking of that same gift, plus you’ve done the whole flowers and candy thing before.
Or maybe this is something you need for yourself?
The Motherboard company makes products like this from obsolete and used circuit boards from computers, phones, audio components and TVs. Motherboard keeps thousands of circuit boards out of the landfills each year.
What do you think of the groovy circuit board?
