Angry Men More Prone to Obesity

Do you know an Angry Man? According to a new report, he is likely to be overweight. Fox News is reporting that hostile men will continue to increase his body mass index. Dr. Hermann Nabi of France has followed angry men’s weight for the past 20 years and that is what he has found. Each man completed a test before the study to see if they qualified. I’m guessing that had to really be mean. I would love to see that test. They probably got a little meaner each time they were weighed also.
I wonder if a test has been done …read more

Apparently quite a bit. If you have been around for the past couple of years you have heard that green tea is supposed to help you lose weight. I have seen different diets that say to drink it at night or during the day. It seems like overnight we went from not being able to find green tea on the shelves to having green tea everywhere. There is even green tea flavored water. I didn’t really like the taste of it, but when you are trying to lose weight, you will try a lot of things you don’t typically drink …read more
Healthier Eating equals Weight Loss

There are some things you can do to help jump start your weight loss. We all know that exercise can help reduce fat, but what we really need is to wrap our mind around is getting healthy. It’s almost easier to say that you are making changes to your diet than to say you are on a diet. As soon as you let it out that you are unable to eat things, you start to crave them.
We need to tell ourselves that we are eating healthier. Don’t focus on the diet part. Diets are very emotional because they are tied …read more
Diet and Exercise Prevents Type 2 Diabetes

Did you know that rougly 80% of all Type 2 Diabetes cases can be prevented by changes in your diet and exercise? If you have Diabetes in your family as I do, you will want to make those changes before you are diagnosed with it. Increasing your activities can be as easy as taking the steps instead of the elevator, parking away from the building and walking. Increasing exercise by 30 minutes or more can turn your health around.
Eating better can be challenging but definitely worth it. You can begin slowly by omitting the second piece of pie or leaving some …read more

I’m happy to report that weigh in went well. I hope it did for you as well. I managed to lose two pounds this week. I worked out and ate the right foods. I did have one cappuccino but that was really my only cheat (smile) that I can think of. March is quickly upon us and so is the countdown to the summer.

Water is the Natural Body Cleanser

There are so many cleansing diets and programs available now; it is hard to decipher the good from the bad, and the marketing hype from the actual benefits. And like me, you have probably wandered from store to store searching for the ultimate cleansing product that will make you feel energised, revitalised and alive.
While it is true that there are many products available that claim to make you feel each of those things, I have found (through plenty of trial and error and with a big dent in my wallet) that the most effective and indeed the cheapest way …read more
Losing Weight – The Dreaded Monday Weigh In
February 9, 2009 by Kristin Peoples

I’m starting to dread Monday’s because of the weigh in. This time I felt really good about the weigh in. I can see some difference in my clothes but definitely not on the scale.
It remained the same.
Sometimes it is difficult to keep your momentum going because you want the scale to show the decrease as a reward for all of your hard work. Becoming more active and exercising improves your overall health. And losing weight will come but it will not be overnight. I can definitely relate to this fact.
I’m reminded that of course I didn’t put the weight on …read more
Gastric Bypass is Never Your Only Option

I am doing my daily online reading when I came across a post talking about a female who went to the doctor about her weight loss and was told that her only option was to have gastric bypass. Now the article doesn’t begin to tell me how much she weighs or anything like that. I used to work with several people who went to the same doctor and were all told that they needed the gastric bypass. Now short of being morbidly obese at 400 pounds plus, why wouldn’t you be given the opportunity to try to lose the weight …read more
Dining Out while Trying to Lose Weight

I love to eat out. The smells, sounds and sights that fill up my senses as the chefs prepare a delicious meal. For a self confessed ‘foody’ there is nothing that compares. But what do you do when you are on a life changing weight loss journey, the scales keeping moving in a downward direction and you would prefer to keep it that way. It’s very easy for me, at least in the beginning to taste the good food and say ‘buh bye’ to the diet.
I once thought that weight loss meant no eating out and salads all day, every …read more

Oh Magic Eight Ball, did I lose weight this week?
I should be happy but I’m not. I lost 2 pounds last week. I know that healthy weight loss is 1 to 2 pounds per week and that I’m on the higher end of that so that’s great right? I even exercised twice doing Zumba and sweat like a pig while doing it. That should count for something.
I do feel better and I have more energy just from eating better and exercising. I’m not a Jane Fonda yet (showing age) but I can work out 2-3 times per week without dying. …read more
