I get to see her this weekend (oh, and her parents too!) so I probably won’t be online much…

Maybe I should say, “This is how much I trust her!” This is not another Halloween costume (The Mummy), but rather I became her head model so that she would have an anatomically correct form to use in building armour. Yes, really.
And yup. Claustrophobic me is under all that gunk. She covered me in algaenate and then plastered over it. {shudder}

This is what she had me do to her a few weeks ago…I really think she got the better end of the deal:

See? She’s still smiling!!

I’ve told you about the WCA before: it’s the Women’s Caucus for Art, and I belong to the Central Massachusetts chapter. I’ve found it to be a wonderful group to be involved with. We have several shows throughout the year: some are juried, some are invitational, some are open to all members.
Our current show is called H2O, and is being sponsored by one of our favorite venues: the Fitchburg pulic access TV station! They’ve been so accomodating to us that this is our third show at their facility.

Avian Oasis by Jan Queijo

This year, I was the only mixed media jewelry artist in the show, but I was able to snap a couple of pictures of two of my quilting friends. Every medium that you can think of was there at the show, but I spent more time yakking than snapping for a change!

Fish in a Barrel by Cindy Walter, one of the show organizers

Besides the shows, and just being able to occasionally get together with other local artists for fellowship and encouragement, we also enjoy taking the time to do workshops for each other. If you don’t have an art support group already, I highly recommend that you look into WCA.

One of the most amusing things about being married to a physicist is that they just can’t help playing with stuff. So when we went on our last vacation, even my mother’s garden fountain wasn’t safe from Mike’s experiments! Obviously this was shot during the summer…I’m just now getting around to sharing. What this man will do for the amusement of his family

My daughter pointed me to this fabulous video. My understanding is that the young man who is shown in the video didn’t write the music, but got permission to perform it and has actually recorded all the parts. Brilliant, huh? Fun anyway…
[Editor's note - down in the comments, you'll see that I was wrong. The voices are those of the original artists, Moosebutter. ]
