Octomom Slams Kate Gosselin

I wonder how some of these folks that do reality shows think they come off on camera. The latest reality show diva is the Octomom, Nadya Suleman. On last night’s “Octomom: The Incredible Unseen Footage” special Suleman actually slammed Kate Gosselin, calling her an attention seeker. The comment came after Suleman was shown a picture of Kate Gosselin walking on the beach in a bikini. She lamented that Kate had her kids five years ago so of course she’s back in shape now.

The thing that struck me was Suleman saying she herself wasn’t an attention seeker.

She also admits that she “screwed herself” by having the octuplets. She admits that she loves them but also says it was a poor decision. Here is a clip from the show:

If a judge agrees, come September 1st, Nadya Suleman (the “Octomom“) will begin filming a reality series. A judge is needed to sign off on the pay for each of her 14 children, who will earn $250 per day to star in their mom’s show. The children are expected to earn $250,000 over three years.

A production company out of Europe, Eyeworks, is behind the deal. You might not have heard of Eyeworks, but you’ve definitely heard of their TV credits: “Breaking Bonaduce” and “The Biggest Loser.”

The more we hear about the Octomom, Nadya Suleman, the more twists and turns her story has. The latest is that she has confessed that she coerced the sperm donor into freezing his embryos and fathering the older six children she has. Now, she’s on-camera confessing to having regrets.

So now people are wondering why she would regret doing this publicly, and they think it’s because she possibly wants the father of these kids in her life. Perhaps she regrets doing this alone. Perhaps she wants some help. Or maybe she’s really in love with this guy and this is one way she wanted to get his attention?

Undoubtedly, there will be more to tell on this as time goes on!

Really, does it surprise anyone that Nadya Suleman, otherwise known as the “Octomom” is getting a reality show? If all the things we find objectionable about her situation (like being unemployed and using invitro to get pregnant when she’d already had six kids) weren’t there, just the fact that she now had eight babies at once would have probably given her a reality show. We seem to be fascinated with multiple births – just take a look at the show Jon and Kate Plus Eight.

Attorney Gloria Allred has filed a petition requested that a guardian be appointed to protect the rights of the eight babies. Allred is working with Paul Peterson, a former child star (from the Donna Reed Show) and now an activist for minors working in entertainment. Allred and Peterson want to “ensure that the money they earn as participants in a future reality show isn’t spent or wasted by their mother.”

However, Nadya isn’t Jon or Kate. She is someone who doesn‘t have a husband, a job, or it appears, a sense of reality. All those things aside, I’m not sure I fault her for getting the reality show. It could be a way to provide for the babies’ college funds, and for their well being for many years to come. It come be a good thing. That is, if she is smart about the process. That’s the question.

Nadya Suleman Fires Baby Nurses

Nadya Suleman, otherwise known as the Octomom, has fired the nonprofit group of nurses that were helping her care for her 14 children.
Is it just me or is this story more and more disturbing the more we find out about this situation?

The nurses are from a group called Angels in Waiting, and were helping Suleman without cost to her. But apparently that wasn’t good enough for the Octomom, because she felt they were “spying on her” and she canned the lot of them.

And this hysteria is with only four of the octuplets at home! She still has four in the hospital.

She also has identified the father of all her 14 children. He said he is a “foreign-born man who lives in California” and is a good friend of hers. She also admits that he (along with the rest of the world) was a bit ticked to see her go for another IVF treatment when she already had six kids. Apparently as she mentioned this one of her children asked who the man (father) was and she just ignored them.

The first image provided by NBC shows Nadya Suleman, speaking with Ann Curry in New York on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, has emerged on the internet. You can see the Nadya Suleman photo here.

Suleman’s first interview since giving birth to octuplets is planned to be broadcast on the "Today" show on Monday, Feb. 9 and "Dateline" on Tuesday, Feb. 10.

No word yet on how much she might have been paid for rights to her first interview but I’m guessing it was pretty steep.

Anyone care to guess how much she will get from this single interview?

I have to admit she looks pretty darn good for just having eight babies!

Nadya Suleman, the woman who recently made news and became the topic of many conversations will be leaving the California hospital with more than the octuplets she recently gave birth to.

The 33-year-old single mother who had six children at home and in an act of irresponsibility on the parts of both she and her doctor gave birth to eight more babies will be walking out with a publicist and multiple television and book offers and we, the curious rubber-necking society we are – will buy into the books and shows that will allow this woman to profit in a very large way. And what a tragic price it is that will be paid.

As a mother of multiples myself, I believe what this woman has done is a terrible, inexcusable tragedy and the ultimate cost is going to be the tiny lives that will be missing out on a normal life because they will be spending their life as the modern day circus sideshow and their mother staring as the snake-oil salesman.

I am completely appalled at what this woman has done. I hope the doctor loses his license to practice and is somehow held accountable for the multi-million dollar debt the birth of these little ones will tally up.

When will there be laws in place that will prevent this type of practice from taking place? I believe this woman planned well to gain attention – to get rich off having her uterus filled like a circus clown car – and it’s looking like her plan worked.

What are your thoughts on the octuplets, the single mother with fourteen children and her planned publicity?
