Nanny uses CafeMom.com to plot her crimes

A former nanny for a New York couple was arrested for sending $850 worth of clothing belonging to twin boys in her charge to a Texas woman she met online.
Police arrested Donna Crowe, 24, of Wyckoff and a law student at Villanova University in Pennsylvania, after she allegedly sent clothing to an expectant Cypress, Texas woman after chatting with her online on an Internet Web site, CafeMom.com.
Police began investigating a tip from a friend of the family’s in August after finding Crowe was impersonating the mother of the twins on CafeMom.com by posting pictures of the boys and the …read more

Madonna’s Nanny Won’t Be Talking

…or writing for that matter.
It seems Madge and her high powered attorneys have managed to harness in the former nanny and place her in the position where she may have to keep that day job after all.
Via Gawker:   Melissa Dumas may live, but for the moment at least, it appears that she won’t be allowed to tell. The former nanny’s memoir Live To Tell, about Madge’s “home life,” which had been announced earlier this week as having sold to Lindsey Moore at Crown Publishing with plans for a crash publication in September, will not go forward. Crown doesn’t give …read more

Former Madonna Nanny Pitching Tell-All Memoir

A woman claiming to be a former nanny for Madonna is currently shopping a tell-all memoir detailing the inner workings of the Madonna-Guy Ritchie household.
EW.com has seen the 80-page proposal, which is said to include a laundry list of alleged details pertaining to Madonna’s marriage to Ritchie, their children’s behavior, the family’s participation in Kabbalah, and the motivation behind Madonna’s decision to adopt a boy from Malawi.  The pitch also includes personal photos of the Material Girl’s family.
Should celebrity nannies be allowed to produce such tell-all books or should they be bound by some sort of confidentiality agreement?

Anna Nicole Smith’s Nanny Tells All

It seems more and more that Anna Nicole Smith lived and died like Marilyn Monroe – what a horrible tragedy this is – the loss of such a beautiful person and life – and even more, the loss of a mother.
Anna Nicole Smith’s former nanny has fueled speculation the tragic actress/model took her own life by revealing her late employer attempted suicide twice in her presence.
Child minder Quethlie Alexis signed a sworn affidavit in December after going to the authorities in her native Bahamas, where Smith lived, with claims of child abuse and suicide.

Nanny-Cam Abuse Bust

I can’t even fathom what it must be like to actually go through the trouble of interviewing, hiring and trusting a nanny with your children and have them do this….
A nanny has been arrested after the parents of a 2-year-old boy recorded her molesting the tot, authorities said yesterday.
The parents, who live on Long Island, were first alerted to a possible problem by an official at their boy’s preschool, who said Carol Clarke, 45, of Queens, was routinely rough with him.
They set up a secret recording device in their home early last year and viewed four instances of sexual abuse, …read more

Nanny over Manny: Childcare Gender Discrimination Revealed

A recent survey revealed that over 90 percent of respondents would employ a female nanny to care for their children, while only 54 percent would employ a male nanny (manny).
Citing a lack of emotion, higher sex offender rates, and an inability to multitask, survey responders are much less likely to trust their children to a “manny” (male nanny). Gender stereotypes also play a large role in the careers people choose. “The responses pertaining to female nannies praised women as patient with children, terrific, having a natural connection, being more maternal, having excellent intuition, etc.,” writes Katrina Boydon in her column, …read more

Nanny Hunt Can Be a ‘Slap in the Face’ for Blacks

As more blacks move up the economic ladder they’re finding that searching for a nanny can be an exasperating, humiliating exercise.
NY Times interviewed dozens of nannies and agencies that employ them in Atlanta, Chicago, New York and Houston where they found many nannies — often of African-American or Caribbean descent themselves — who actually avoid working for families of those same backgrounds.
The reasons cited included:

accusations of low pay and extra work
fears that employers would look down at them
suspicion that any neighborhoods tend to be unsafe

The result is that many black parents do not have the same child care options as …read more

SuperNanny practices what she preaches from the set

Out of Sight Media has some candid shots of Super Nanny enjoying a casual lunch in West Hollywood.
It appears that Jo Frost practices proper manners even when she’s not being filmed.
Jolly good, don’cha think?
