Know the Symptoms of Breast Cancer

During National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, you’ve probably seen a lot of ribbons and pink products. You may have also participated in a race or walk to raise money for breast cancer research. You were probably also reminded of the importance of mammograms, but can you name the symptoms of breast cancer?
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), women may not have any symptoms during the beginning of breast cancer, but symptoms do appear as the cancer grows. They include:
New lump in the breast or underarm (armpit)
Thickening or swelling of part of the breast

US President Bush Signed Early Cancer Screening Bill

A bill passed by Congress last month extending the National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program has been signed Friday (April 20, 2007) by US President George W. Bush:
This morning I have the honor of signing a bill that will help continue our nation’s fight against breast and cervical cancer. This bill reauthorizes the National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program.
I want to thank the Congress for passing this bill. I appreciate
you all coming down to witness the signing of this important piece of legislation.
The said bill provides cancer screening for low-income and uninsured or underinsured women.
