Being a nurse, patients share their symptoms and concerns about diabetes on a daily basis. One of the most consistent complaints is numbness in the hands and feet, known as diabetic neuropathy.
Diabetic neuropathy, nerve damage, occurs in people who have had diabetes because their blood sugar level is higher than normal. Over time, high blood sugar levels damage the blood vessels and nerves.
