A dating website called me up the other day to tell me that they were now linking up their online dating profiles with Last.FM and Netflix settings – that way, when checking out a potential partner, you can see what music and movies they were into.
At first I was like…why? And then I realized it was the best idea ever.
Everyone has those early date bonding “tools” – whether it’s shared love of food, or museums, or whatever – but shared taste in music and movies can be a biggie. Or at least a great conversation starter!

Who has seen Ken Burns Civil War Documentary? Maybe I should ask if you were forced to watch it in history class. I remember a day when I could not stand the thought of history. It almost made me vomit just to think about history, dates, battles, when tea was thrown off a ship in Boston, or what the heck happened in 1066AD. What was the sole purpose behind the rise of the Civil War, WWI, WWII, the Korean War, Vietnam, and so on and so forth.

Planned Family TV Night

Sometimes I think it is a great idea to plan a weekly TV program that is suitable for the kids and watch it. In our house we try to keep the TV at a minimum but planning for special TV time can be a lot of fun and very entertaining. That night we may order out for pizza or cook up something fun.
