If you’ve had a baby, chances are during a physical exam, you’ve seen his or her hips being checked by the doctor. Usually, this is done by lying the baby on the back and spreading the legs in such a way (knees bent) to see how the hips are working.

Supernanny Looking for Newborns
Sounds like Supernanny is trying to head off unruly behaviour before it gets started. The Westport News has an interview with Kevin Doran Smith, a native who now works as an editor and casting producer for the show. In the interview, Smith reveals that Supernanny is actively searching for families with newborns. “This will be the first time Supernanny will be helping a couple before the trouble starts.“
