Today’s offbeat holiday gift suggestion is not a real king mind you but an ultra wacky shelving unit perfect for the offbeat home owner — or anyone who fancies oddball storage solutions.
The King of Siam Shelf is made by mOEbler. I like it as far as offbeat goes but do not like the color (good thing there’s paint) and can’t imagine what I’d do with those tiny extra spaces. How about you?

Yup egg building. Soon it’ll be sweeping the country; or not.
I have no idea what’s going on here. Unusual Life — a super keen oddball blog posted this a while back with no explanation. However, on the upside, I suppose if you built an entire city out of eggs that it would at least be biodegradable. Perhaps a little too much so. Still, it’s so slick. How did this guy do it? Maybe I’ll look it up. Better yet anyone know and want to tell me?

Wow is right folks. Do you think they’re real eggs? I’m guessing yes.

You know, one of those days where everything is all topsy turvy and obnoxious. I sure do. If you can relate; than boy do I have the perfect house for you.

Do I even need to say anything?

Freshome has the entire low-down on this house, more photos, PLUS a super slick video where you can see the interior (yup chairs on the ceiling). The video is, in my opinion a must see. You’ll learn that this house is not just some oddball creation or prop but a statement on the world. Seriously.

Location: Tokyo
A private residence. The plans from the site of the home designer explain that the first floor is for the sons in the family, the second floor for the family living area (living room, kitchen, bath), and the third floor houses the studio and deck. Oddly the explanation of this home says that there is a “blue spiral shaped shower room on the first floor.” Which begs the question; was this picture taken from the inside or outside of the home?
