Some interesting shoe-news out of the United Kingdom today: research suggests that wearing high heels is linked to higher instances of arthritis, and the The Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists is warning of an imminent “arthritis crisis.” We’ve been told for years that our Louboutin‘s and Jimmy Choo‘s might be responsible for our bunions, corns, sprained ankles, shortened calves, and back problems, but we never even thought that our shoe fetish could lead to such a serious affliction. Arthritis strikes 60% of people under the age of 65, so now we must ask ourselves, should we sacrifice health for fashion, or fashion for health?
