Can you say, truthfully, that you’ve never told a lie? Oh really…What about the time you told your family you couldn’t come to dinner because the dog was sick? Or, the time you hid your new dress in the back of your closet so your husband wouldn’t see that you’d been shopping on-line, again. Harmless?
How about the ones we tell “keep from hurting other’s feelings”: “Oh what a beautiful baby.” “No, I can’t even tell you have 3 cats in your house.” Funny?

How Vacation Resembles Work?

Or how not to balance your work and personal life.
Just returned from a few days in Vegas. It was a great trip, but there were certain things that had me thinking vacation is a lot like the office. Here’s my list of observations…let me know if any of these ring true for you. Read vacation = office:

Another day at the office

My office is in my home, a few feet away from the kitchen, and overlooking my front yard. Does this ever happen to you — You get stuck…you can’t make a decision, your ideas are not flowing, you stare out in to space, everthing seems dingy?
Plus, everyday when school lets out, the neighborhood girls (’tweens) seem to congregate in front of my house. I don’t have children so someone needs to explain this to me…but why, oh why do they scream when they are playing?

I have always been fascinated with the concept of leadership in American corporate culture. Professionally, it as been an aspiration of mine. Is leadership one of those characteristics that you are either born with or you are not? How does one become a leader? Is leadership about a person’s ability to inspire, display strength, honor, integrity, wisdom? steadfastness? Power?
