Some of the carpenter jeans had nice, big pockets on them. I was looking at them the other day when I thought of the perfect use for the carpenter jean pockets.

Cut each of the pockets out close to the seams to avoid having untidy frayed edges. Get a piece of scrap wood that was about 24 inches by 18 inches. Then, sand, primer and paint it. After it dries, use hot glue to attach pockets to the board. I recommend three columns of three pockets, leaving plenty of space above each row of pockets for tall things to stick out of them. Finish the organizer off with a picture frame hanger on the back.

This simple organizer is perfect for a boy’s room or can be dressed up with rickrack and other trims for a girl’s room.

When my kids were younger I used to rotate their toys. When I started to see that there were certain toys they were neglecting, I put them away and would pull other ones out that had been stored.
Rotating your kids toys solves two problems: it helps to reduce toy clutter and it also keeps them interested in their toys longer. Whenever I would pull out a “new” toy that had been stored away for awhile, it was literally like they were seeing this toy for the first time.

Rotating your kids toys solves two problems: it helps to reduce toy clutter and it also keeps them interested in their toys longer. Whenever I would pull out a “new” toy that had been stored away for awhile, it was literally like they were seeing this toy for the first time.

Another good idea for toy rotation is to create a special basket of toys for a certain occasions. For example, a client of mine was having a hard time cooking dinner because her 3 year old was always at her feet begging her to play with him. My solution was to create a toy basket of items that he only got to play with while she was cooking. I told her to rotate the toys every week or two and also to add new toys every once and awhile. The last thing I heard was that cooking dinner had become a lot easier in her household! Now that’s a nice thing to hear.

When it comes to keeping those toys organized, I have found that if my kids have organizing pieces in their room that they enjoy looking at, then they will be more likely to use them.
I just put a new cube organizer in my daughter’s room and she loves it and actually uses it to keep her things organized! It’s a wonderful thing.
That’s why I love this Sassy Flower Pop Up toy organizer. It has an adorable pattern and it’s something that is fun and easy for kids to use.
